Owing to unexpected delays, the printing had to be done at a time when I was unable to read the proofs with the care which such work demands. In consequence, there is a fairly large number of typographical errors in the book and their number would undoubtedly have been larger had it not been for the kindness of Mr. S. Sitnramayya and some other friends who obligingly took on themselves the task of reading some of the proofs. Such of the errors as I have noticed arc corrected in the Krrata given on the next page some of them are due to the diacritical marks breaking off in the course of printing, and may not be found in all copies.
