Bijzonderheden over het boek
Dear Jack

"Dear Jack" is a collection of letters I wrote to our three-year-old son while my wife was pregnant with our second child. Starting on Father's Day - before we knew there would be a Baby Two - and culminating with a letter written while I sat by Baby Two in the neonatal intensive care unit the day he was born, the letters follow my emotions as I mentally prepare for a second child, as well as try to put into words the impact my first son had on my life during his time as an only child. Knowing our older son would have no memory of this time in his life, my goal was to capture for posterity his world (and ours) at that stage. Little did I know we'd also encounter a highly challenging day care situation and also the death of one of my grandparents. As I look back, I hope my words to Jack offer an insight that will be beneficial to any parents who are preparing to welcome a second child, as well as to help anyone relive the emotions of being an expectant parent.
