Ignorance and confusion on risk factors and causes of cancer resulted in them not engaging in appropriate cancer screening activities. Access barriers to health care such as red tape and bureaucracy, lack of availability in doctor s schedule, and provider insensitivity to their concerns were typical stumbling blocks they came across.
