Wessels then travels the world to create poetic still lifes in exotic garages with her analog camera. At first glance, the interiors of garages in Cambodia, Cuba, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Russia, South Africa, Japan and Sri Lanka seem to contain the same elements, but small details - only visible to a patient and trained eye - pointing out cultural differences. Wessels then points her camera outwards, towards the immediate vicinity of the old garages. There she is struck by the nature that she finds in the rough, industrial landscapes on the outskirts of the cities. In some cases, rampant nature takes over from industry, overgrowing the garages that try to survive. The photographic result is picturesque images with a surprising color palette.
