It may be from Revelation; but yet that alters not the Cafe, provided, Human Reason duly attended to, would have lead you to this Apprehension of GOD. B. But supposing I had liv'd in those Days, when the World had been first Blessed with Divine Revelation, and I had no more attended jo the Dictates of Natural Light than my Neighbours i and consequently had been destitute of. such an Apprehension of G O D, I could not have judg'd by that, which I had not? A. True '. And I will endeavour to guess what would have been the Consequence of such a Misfortune. You would have been hugely liable to Imposition, to receive salse Pretences to Inspiration, with the rest of your Neighbours, that had no more exercised their Reason in these Matters than your self; which is a clear Argument, your and their Error viflbuld have arose from this Default.
