Bijzonderheden over het boek
Rock The Boat

Rock the Boat is a modern interpretation of the best selling Victorian classic 'Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. We follow a fame hungry teenage rock band along The River Thames on route to play the gig of their lives at the famous music event 'Reading Festival'. The problem is, they're not booked to perform and no one knows who they are! They consider this a minor detail and continue with their plans to go viral and become the new international rock sensation! Access into the festival site hinges on the all important tickets the a band's front man (Jerome) has requested for his birthday. But his excitement soon turns to despair when a misunderstanding sees him receive the wrong tickets and a boat trip! This could ruin their big break, so Jerome is forced to improvise and he prepares to set sail to stardom with limited resources. He convinces his band mates to take to the water in the dilapidated boat, but a catalogue of errors and encounters with unwelcome guests cause plenty of waves along the way. This cruise is far from plain sailing - will they make it to the festival on time, and will they go viral for all the wrong reasons? The main characters are:- Jerome: The neurotic, Google-obsessed lead singer and guitarist. Harris: The loud-mouthed tomboy and general troublemaker (on bass). Georgie: The geeky, practical, self-appointed PR guru and general trouble-shooter (on keyboards). Dog: A chilled-out, mild mannered, gentle giant with a hulking presence (on drums). This book's humour, entertainment value and eye-catching illustrations brings this Victorian classic bang up to date for a new audience, while also retaining the same sense of irreverence and adventure that infuses the original work. Banter is an independent publisher with a new approach to storytelling, creating unique and exciting graphic novels for young people.
