The honorable Lafayette S. Foster, President of the Senate pro tempore, resumed the chair.
The President pro tempore presented the credentials of the honorable Luke P. Poland, elected a senator by the legislature of the State of Vermont to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of the honorable Jacob Collamer.
The credentials were read, and the oaths prescribed by law were administered to Mr. Poland, and he took his seat in the Senate.
The President pro tempore presented the credentials of the honorable George F. Edmunds, elected a senator by the legislature of the State of Vermont to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of the honorable Solomon Foot.
The credentials were read, and the oaths prescribed by law were ad ministered to Mr. Edmunds, and he took his seat in the Senate.
